Madeley Academy Sixth Form Info | Ercall Wood Academy

We understand that this year has been quite difficult for Year 11 students; having to self-isolate, catching up on missed Year 10 content and preparing for mock exams. We always enjoy coming into schools to meet with Year 11 students and to help them with careers advice and choosing their next step, be that College or Sixth Form. Unfortunately as this hasn't been possible this year we have recorded a series of videos to help both you and your students to learn more about what we have on offer at Madeley Academy Sixth Form, and also understand the content of the courses that we offer. I know many of you are working hard on tutor time career sessions so wanted to share these with you to make your job a little easier.

Our entry requirements at Madeley are 6 GCSEs grade 4 and above including English Language and Maths, and some courses have additional requirements to meet. All of this information can be found in our course handbook: madeley_sixth_form_2020 (madeleyacademy.com)

All students that apply to our Sixth Form will have a Careers phone call so that we can help to answer any questions that students may have about course combinations and enrichment requirements for their next step. These are informal and allow students to get answers to anything they are unsure of. We have received many applications already and have limited places available as we like to offer students an personalised service when they join our Sixth Form. We do offer as applications come in and are oversubscribed every year, so for students who are interested in joining us please encourage early applications to avoid disappointment.

You are welcome to use the videos below to support your students with their choices, and if we can be of any further help, please do not hesitate to ask. Although on site career events aren't happening this year, we are more than happy to deliver through Teams, Zoom etc. to support you with this process.
