The schools GCSE results in 2013 have been again record breaking with a significant 6% increase on last years’ results. This was very pleasing when set against a backdrop of an overall decrease in results nationally.

The school is proud of its track record of improvement in success achieved by its students. This is not merely measured in terms of examination results. Engagement in pathways, extra-curricular activities and involvement in pastoral care are real indications of the breadth of study and commitment experienced by students. Many people now appreciate that our school is increasingly successful for a very large number of students of differing abilities and aptitudes. For example this year all those students identified as ‘Gifted and Talented’ in Year 11 gained at least 3 A or A* amongst their nine or more GCSE passes. As well as the G&T students those pupils in receipt of ‘Free school meals’ have also made at least the expected 3 levels of progress in both their English and Maths GCSE’s. All of these successes are the result of good teaching in school, hard work by the students and unending support from families. Our combined efforts really do pay dividends.
